Sade reunited in 2008 at Peter Gabriel’s Real World studio for the very first time after wrapping the Lover’s Rock tour in 2001. In a series of fortnightly recording sessions, they sketched out materials for a new album which, they all felt, was probably their most ambitious to date.
“I never want to repeat myself,” lead singer Helen Folasade Adu says. “And that becomes a more interesting challenge for us the longer we carry on together.”
